POST 4/2026 CARBIS BAY, CORNWALL, UK . . . Walks. Friends. Lent. Evensong. Coffee mornings. Concert. Day out. Books. Casual meet-ups. Meals in and out. News. Rain, wind, hail, mud, cold. Now, lo and behold, after a few sunny spells we’re breaking out the sunscreen. All of these factors figure significantly in driving home a sense of home. It’s good to be here, home from home.

The Eden Project is a global garden like no other, set in a 30-acre china clay pit near St Austell, Cornwall. It’s truly a reconnection with the natural world. “We are a charity and a catalyst for change–inspiring positive action,” the flyer says. We visited 24 years ago, one year after it opened. Thanks to Steve and Marilyn for taking us there again.

Thanks, Marlene. Plenty to smile about. Go about. Be about. Muse about. Including reminiscing about for the times we’ve spent here-about with you and Stanley.

Hi John and Marty, sounds like all is well with you. I’m walking also in often chilly, muddy, rarely sunny conditions. Last Saturday 5 of us from CMC did a sunrise Lenten walk at Fidler Pond. Possibly this could become a monthly activity? Your photo of unidentified plant with the large red bud is a banana plant. At top of photo you’ll see banana fruit. When the red casing opens another bunch of very tiny banana fruits will be visible. Phyllis
