Home again in Cornwall

Post 7/2024. We’re here. Indiana to Cornwall. Arrived Friday at 5:30pm. Smooth sailing via ride to the South Bend airport, change of planes in Atlanta for overnight flight to London, train to St Erth, car to Carbis Bay. Greeted with mizzle Friday evening; fog and rain today. Dinner at Beck’s Restaurant proved fine as usual. Chatted with two couples whom we know and a few members of staff.

We have some strides to go to improve wi-fi connectivity. Also need to get a cable to download shots from my camera. That’s one are of only two things of the kit and caboodle that I failed to pack.

Posted photos are from my phone. Shots from back home appear at the bottom. Will get the wi-fi and downloading conundrum sorted. Glad to be here. I’m missing part of the TV show Pointless. See you next week.

Help, I’m Trapped in My Duvet: The Most Ridiculous Emergency Calls

The book is by Howard Lester. One sample:

Caller: I want to report a seagull.

Operator: Can you tell me why? What is the seagull doing?

Caller: It’s sitting in the garden looking sad. It’s raining heavily outside.

Operator: Looking sad? What emergency service do you need?

Caller: Can’t you send someone to look after it?

Operator: I’m afraid not. You could try a local bird sanctuary.

Cheerio,

-John

Glad you arrived safely. Today John’s note to John P. in the hospital a short time before he passed away here. It was a message that meant a lot to Lisa, Dave, and to me. The other note was beautiful, as well.

Welcome to Carbis Bay, John & Marty! You have a lovely Garden Room at your new rental. We are sure you will enjoy many happy hours there as well as the countryside walks on the footpaths! Glad the long trip went smoothly.

    Love, Monty & Ginger
