Post 16/2025 Cornwall UK: Goodbye, friends. Goodbye, footpaths. Goodbye, fish and chips (Becks). Goodbye, goodbye, Cornwall. At Coffee Morning at St Anta & All Saints Church on Saturday, one person commented, “When Marty and John come, we know it’s Spring.” We come in mid-February, considering our stay including parts of winter and spring. At least it’s winter back home in Indiana.

As you’ve noticed, friends, footpaths and food loom large in our sojourn in County Cornwall in southwestern England. Numbers of people have kindly and sincerely said, “See you next year.” One added, “The Lord willing.” All such sentiments contribute to consideration of what may be.

From rugged, super service to now ragged, splitting, well-worn, my boots now deserve their rest. I’m reusing the laces and inserts. One should not wax overly sentimental about worn-out boots, still, I take my leave with a tenderly whispered “Thank you. Goodbye.”
