Happy week

We’re happy for a week’s visit with friends and family in Ontario. The time includes:

Baseball games where great-nephews are playing.

A wedding reception for great-niece Kira and husband Stephen.

Connection with family and friends of cousin Ralph who died shortly after entering hospice care.

Conversations at table and cookouts.

Visits to the New Hamburg Thrift Centre. Nice book finds and a bit more.

Favourites: Cheese from area factories. Rheo Thompson Candies (dark chocolate mint smoothies) and Balzac coffee beans from Stratford.

Lazing at the home of Mark and Christa. Fresh veggies, raspberries, peaches. Birdsong. Cats, Max and Ruby. A skunk who left a momentarily-scented calling card. Helping out a little with a paver-laying project–just a wee bit of effort while brother Mark and nephew Mike (Mitch) did the heavy work.

Visiting the farm where I grew up, walking through the old house, seeing the new house being built by nephew Grant and spouse Laura and children.

Catching the slow wave in a world of much motion. Paradisical.

What’s more to say and show can wait. We’re doing well.
